About Me
Hello,
I’m Kansas and I am an Indigenous (Dine) Actor, and Writer. Let’s get the big stuff (and the stuff you might be looking for) out of the way. I tend to play mom and rebel types. I’ve been compared to Elaine Miles and Aubrey Plaza (vibes only). I also DON’T do Westerns. I’m all about good representation and Western’s, even the good meaning one’s, tend to not have those. There’s also a huge history of how Western’s shaped the views of how Indigenous people and non-Indigenous people viewed the “Indians” but there isn’t time to get into that. My goal in the industry is to create more representation for Indigenous Actors. Growing up I never saw any representation for people who look like me and if I did, they were usually Westerns or a white guy painted red (and not the good kind of red). I mostly likely would fit into dramatic roles, and comedic roles but (the annoying response) I could fit into other roles. I would love to play a villain, lead, or something in the mystery and/or horror genres. I don’t just want to fit into one area, I want all of it. I am currently seeking representation and hoping to find someone who will work just as hard as I will to find those roles.
If your still interested in knowing more, here’s a little bit about me. I grew up in the Checkerboard area of Northwestern New Mexico just outside the Navajo Reservation. I grew up around artist; weavers, beadworker’s, painters, musicians, none of them actor’s but all were storytellers, and they passed this onto me. I am a storyteller at heart, whether it’s through acting or writing, if there’s a story I’ll tell it. When I’m not writing mystery/thrillers, I’m usually reading it or watching it. I enjoy traveling and learning about different cultures, and new places.
Thanks for stopping by.
